Last Thursday, I was awaken by a call from my friend. At first I was hesitant to answer the call because I’m thinking that my number was accidentally dialed because she never calls me in the middle of the night and I believe that she is already sleeping that time because she is pregnant and about to give birth.
But when my she called me for the second time, I finally answered it and I was surprised that her husband was the one spoke. He wanted to inform me that my friend just gave birth and she was actually requesting me to come to the hospital first thing in the morning. And so I said yes because I thought that she was just too excited that’s why she wanted me to come as early as I can.
When I arrived at the hospital, I was so jolly asking where the baby was and both of them don’t have any signs of happiness at all. I was scared then so I immediately asked what happened. Her husband answered and told me that their baby was still in the nursery room because he still needs to undergo some tests and laboratories.
Everything was still vague to me until they spilled the beans that their baby has a congenital disease which is why he was still under observation then. Doctors were suspecting that this was due to the medicine that my friend took as per her first doctor. It was said that the medicine she took is not safe for pregnant women as it may have side effects just like some heart disease.
I was teary eyed when I heard the news because I’m thinking of the condition of the baby and I’m afraid that he won’t be able to handle it.
As of now, they are still planning to file a Prozac lawsuit against the doctor who prescribed the medicine to her since this doctor was fully aware that my friend was pregnant that time. I’m just not sure when will they file the case because until now, they are still focusing on their baby and they are still figuring out what to do.
I just really pray that everything will turn out fine. I know this thing happened on purpose that’s why I believe that the most powerful medication for now are prayers and faith to God.
