School Year 2010-2011 Preparations

2-3 weeks from now, another school year is about to begin. Students are already preparing for the start of the classes and as well as the teachers and other staffs of the schools all over our country.

When I went to my school last three days ago, the management is undergoing energy auditing in preparation for the classes that will soon start on the first week of June.

Every year they are conducting this auditing so they will know what to improve and they will have an idea if they have to limit the use of energy in the campus or not. Since it is a government university, you can expect that there are many students enrolled here, which means that there are many people using the energy. And so, if they will be able to monitor it, they will be able to conserve and provide just enough for the people in the university.

So I guess our school is really preparing for the start of the classes. I just hope that they will be able to continue this kind of maintenance in our school so that the students as well as the faculty and staff will enjoy and appreciate their environment.

Will This Be The Last?

This coming Monday is my schedule for our thesis final defense. I decided to take up my thesis this summer so that I won’t wait any longer since this subject is being offered on the second semester so if I will still wait for that, it will take 6 months before I will be able to graduate.

And so, before I focus on my job search, I still have to complete my last 3 units by passing my thesis. For now, my partner and I are eagerly working on it and we are scrutinizing every single detail of our program so that we will be ready when the panelists raise their questions.

I am really praying that we will be able to finish and pass our thesis this time. We’ve worked so hard for it and we really can’t wait to get our diplomas. I know when that day comes, everyone in our family and my friends as well will be very proud of me.

I Miss My Bed

I literally miss lying in my own bed. For two weeks, I’ve been staying in my groupmate’s place since we have to be together to finish all the documents and preparations for the defenses including the visual aids and powerpoint presentation.

I haven’t got enough sleep for two weeks. My maximum number of hours of sleep for one day is 4 hours. This is the main reason why my eye bags are getting bigger and darker. Good thing that I have my eye cream which somehow freshens my eyes and helping it to feel relax.

It was never easy to stay awake at very long hours. Aside from feeling so sleepy particularly during afternoon, you will feel a bit dizzy and it feels like your body is shaking and doesn’t want to work or cooperate with your mind.

Honestly, I can’t imagine myself on how I was able to survive that routine. I just hope that all activities will end as soon as possible because I want to sleep soundly in my own bed.

Our Success

We are done with all three seminars that we conducted as part of our requirements in our subject, Computer Issues and Seminars. We made too many preparations for the success of the seminars and we hope that everything will be worthwhile.

We are thanking every person who extended their help and supported us from the very start up to the last end of the seminars. We greatly appreciated their presence and their patience in understanding every single problem that we raised.

We really had a financial problem that’s why we had a hard time producing all the things needed including the invitation, flyers, souvenirs and many more. Good thing that we found a printing press that give discounts in printing just like in club flyers. We were able to spend less since they offered a pocket friendly price to us and additionally, their service is good.

Every success that we had in our seminars was all because of the efforts of our class. We just hope that we didn’t just serve as organizers of seminars but also as inspirations to them. We do expect that they were able to acquire knowledge and be able to use them in their studies.

Hell Week

This week was the most stressful day for me. We had so many things to do that we don’t have time anymore to take a rest or even take a nap.

For the past days, I rarely get enough sleep. In fact, I only had 5 hours of sleep for two straight days. So can you imagine how my mind works with that kind of sleep? Well, to be honest, it doesn’t work well. All I want to do is to sleep whenever I had a chance to.

Actually, my dad has been scolding me because I’m not having enough sleep, which is surely bad for my health. But then, I don’t have any choice. I have to finish my school works on time or else I will fail.

My eye bags are getting bigger and bigger and darker and darker. That’s why I’m looking for an effective eye cream to somehow lessen it. And I think I might be needing eye wrinkle creams as well because I’m so stressed out that my wrinkles might start to appear. LOL!

I just hope that all is well at the end and all my hardships, sleepless nights will be all worth it and have positive results.

Few more days to go and we will finally hear the judgment of our professors.

Research Project

As part of the requirements in our subject Network Administration, we are asked to submit an article with regards to the latest trend on the subject. The deadline will be on March 12 because the professors have to submit the final grades and final list of graduates on March 15.

In addition, we are required to make a reaction paper for the articles. And so, since I still have a couple of days to finish my article, I decided to do it today.

Well anyway, one of my articles will be about the KVM switch that can be used to connect computers with the use of one keyboard, video monitor and mouse. For now, that’s all I know about this topic. I’m still looking for further details if this can be a good subject for Networking.

I have to search for another topic then, since I have to pass two articles. I’m looking forward to finish my work before the end of the day.

Working While Studying

My friend who’s now living in the states is currently working. I had a chat with her last night and she told me so many stories about her new life there. She migrated with her family two years ago after she graduated high school here in the Philippines.

She wasn’t able to continue her studies when she got there. She said that she needs to work for now because she wants to help her parents in supporting their financial needs especially now that they are still adjusting with their new lifestyle.

Then again, she’s really eager to continue her studies while she’s working but she has a job four times a week so she doesn’t know if she can still attend classes. But good thing, she heard about GMAT prep, which can be a great opportunity for her to study anytime and even if she is not in a regular class at school.

And so, she consulted this to her parents and fortunately, they both agreed with what their daughter wants. My friend is really happy about it because she can now go back to studying even though she is working.

Tons of Work To Finish

I am seriously dealing with so many school works now. We have three case studies to work on and at the end of the month of January we have to face the defenses. Plus, my thesis partner and I have to start doing the remaining chapters and we also have to start coding for the programs and I admit that it will be hard for us because we are still not starting because we are trying to figure out how to solve our thesis problems.

These are just some of the things that must be done by the end of the month and I don’t of this will be possible. This will take much of my time and that means that I have to deal with sleepless nights again so I have to be ready for the best acne treatment because I’m pretty sure that I will badly need it.

I just hope that we can all get away with this so we can all graduate this coming April. We just need to sacrifice now and work hard. We are just three months away and then we are done with our college life.

Still Working

I know I need to sleep now since it is almost 2 o’clock in the morning, but I still need to finish some school works especially our case study that should be passed on Monday.

Right after I had my research about colon cleanser, I immediately went looking for a company for our case study in one of our major subjects. We were asked to study the current networking of the company that we can find and then study the problems that they encounter as well as the possible problems that may arise. In addition, we have to make a proposed design for a better networking of the company.

I already found a company but I still have to check if it can comply with the requirements given to us. It should have at least 50 computers and 5 servers before our adviser can approve it. Actually, these are the main reasons why we are having a hard time looking for a company that will meet the terms

Can We Still Make It?

I have so many things to do for this evening. I got home by 11pm and then I immediately went online to check on my email. And as expected, I got plenty on messaged in my inbox again from my professors and classmates. Most are about the guidelines for the upcoming defense this Saturday.

Well anyway, before I start finishing my works, I still need to look for mechanical breakdown insurance since my dad badly needs it. But this won’t take too long because my sister already gave me an idea on where to find it.

So anyway, after everything is set for my dad, I have to focus on our defense. Our group still has a dilemma because until now we still don’t have any company to present. By now, we are still figuring things out of we can still make it until Saturday.

Oh well I guess, I just have to start working now so I can accomplish as many works as possible. Definitely, this will be another sleepless night. LOL!

Reporting

One of our subjects requires reporting every meeting. Our professor will assign one topic regarding technology for each student and we must report something about it especially the features and importance of it.

Last meeting, most of the topics were about computers and newest computer applications that can be bought or downloaded. One of my classmates reported about the photosynth and newest securities for hacker codes that are powered by Microsoft.

For the next meeting, I will be one of the reporters and I was assigned to search and report about Anilox roll. Honestly, I am not that familiar with this that’s why I really have to do further researching so I can relay the information well to my classmates.

In addition, I really need to know all about the process and uses of this because our professor often asks questions and of course we have to answer that since it is our report and it is our responsibility to know the highlights of it. So good luck for me and I will start with my research now.

I Need Your Opinions

Just about last semester, we were informed that we are going to have our photo shoot for our graduation pictures. They told us that our schedule will be this coming December 9-11 that’s why we were required to pay for at least half of the price for the package that we will avail.

Since we were informed earlier, some of my classmates did some preparations for this. Some had their hair treatment while other went on a diet and searched for a faster way of how to burn fat because they want to look good in their graduation picture.

But for me, my dilemma is about my creative shot. Until now, I still don’t have any idea on what to do regarding this matter. Of course I want to have a very nice creative shot that’s why I’m really thinking about this. So if you have any opinions, please don’t hesitate to write a comment. Thank you.

Never Give Up

For the past weeks, I’ve been so focused with my thesis and other case studies. I work hard just to finish everything on time for our defense.

Unfortunately, during those weeks, I always sleep at the wee hours and sometimes, I don’t get enough sleep at all. Because of that, whenever I find some free time, all I want to do is to sleep or just take a nap. When this happens, I almost forgot to eat which resulted to suppress appetite for not eating on time.

Obviously. I lose some weight. I was so stress that I can’t eat well. I also got sick since I became over fatigue plus the sudden changes in our weather.

But now, I’m happy that everything is slowly going back to normal. I’ve finished all my defenses and fortunately, I passed all my subjects.

Everything is worth it. Every hard work is absolutely successful and fulfilling. I am just so happy that despite all the trials that we’ve been through with our professors and panelist, we still manage to end everything well.

After a Long and Tiring Week

Finally, I was able to go home last night. I’ve been staying in my groupmate’s house for almost one week because we are currently working with the documents of our case studies in preparation for the defense. We were actually scheduled for our defense today (Sunday) but fortunately it was cancelled because of the storm.

So last night, our group decided to have a rest first and not push through with our overnight. So we were all happy because we can go home. LOL!

By seven in the evening, I was able to reach home. When I arrived, I rest for a while and then I decided to change the sheets of my mattresses and pillows. After that, I ate my dinner and then rest again then I took a bath.

And finally, I decided to sleep at around 10pm since I was really sleepy because I didn’t get enough sleep for almost one week and I felt so dead tired that’s why I fell asleep easily.

School Dilemma

Another school year has officially begun and somehow, students are starting to get busy now because of the new tasks and responsibilities assigned to them.

Apparently, not all schools are prepared for this new school year. There are some which has insufficient supplies like in public schools. As we all know, students in public schools depend on the books that are being donated to them and most of the time, it is not enough. Likewise, they lack in some facilities like the tables and chairs and some schools don’t have sufficient ceiling fans for proper ventilation. Furthermore, some schools have lesser number of classrooms and they cannot accommodate many students and that’s why, some classes are held in the school corridors and fields.

These are the reasons why some students are having a hard time studying because they lack in so many things and our government is not even doing anything about these. Actually, our government admitted their flaws and they know that they have inadequate needs for the students and worst; they have been very honest that they still need hundreds of class rooms for students to stay but up to now, they just ignore the issue and they don’t even bother to do something to solve it.

Well, I just hope that our government will soon realize that this is not a simple problem. I’m wishing that sooner than later, they will be able to support the needs of every student.

On Being a Student Again

Who would have thought that my sister will go back to school again? Despite of her hectic schedules, she still manages to go study again. But she doesn’t literally goes to school every day; instead, she enrolled in some online college courses to finish her remaining units for her thesis.

I was really surprised when she told me about this because I know how much she wants to spend time with herself and her family, and now, she will have additional works for school and I have no idea how she can budget her time with her work, school and family.

But then again, I know that if my sister wants something, she will surely make a way to do everything she wants despite of many conflicts that may come her way. As long as she’s enjoying the things that she’s doing, I know that she will be able to do it.

I wish my sister a good luck. I believe that she will make it and I know that she will have fun studying again.

I Need Your Suggestions

I know I should be searching about Machu Picchu travel since my dad asked me to. But then again, I suddenly remembered that I also have to look for a resort, preferably a private one for our block’s summer outing this coming March 23-24, 2009. It’s just two weeks from now so I really have to find a place for us to go.

Most of our classmates prefer a private pool so we can really stay intact for the whole time that we will be together. We are really looking forward to push through this plan since in just a few weeks; we will surely become busy because of our OJT. I myself also want a private one because I honestly don’t want to go along with many people in a public pool. I’m just not that comfortable maybe because I’m too worried about the dirt in the pool. LOL!

Anyway, do you have any suggestions on where we can find a private pool which is a budget friendly price? If you know some place, please tell me. It will surely be a big help. Thanks in advance.

I Need a New One

I’ve been using my MacBook for two years now. I’m still using a Windows XP operating system because I’m still not used with Macintosh. Furthermore, I really can’t use the Mac OS for my programming activities since the software and compilers are not readable and compatible with that operating system that’s why, I really have to use Windows XP.

But then again, there are times that even though I’m using Windows XP, there are still problems occurred and more often, my programs are not running. So then I thought that maybe, it is much better if I use other brands of laptops that are more capable in handling the different software that I always use.

Currently, I’m considering the thought of buying a new laptop. I’m thinking if my budget will suit for a Toshiba Satellite because my sister told me that its aspects can perfectly meet my needs. In this way, I may no longer experience same problems that I use to encounter.

God's Will

Honestly speaking, I am still thinking on the notion of why I ended up being a Computer Science student knowing that my fields of interests are not related with that. Maybe I just considered my family’s opinion without even considering mine.

At times, I’m really having a hard time coping with my subjects. There are times wherein my focus is not in my studies anymore and I just prefer to enjoy my social life. Often times, I end up thinking why did I choose this course if I can just take business administration courses or Mass Communication which I dearly love.

But then again, I have no regrets for sticking in this great challenge of my life. Though I’m suffering a lot, I still try my best to finish what I’ve started because I don’t want to fail myself and as well as my family. I know they are expecting something from me that’s why I’m really trying my very best to accomplish my tasks. I know that God has a purpose on why he let me take this path and I believe that it is for my own sake.

Belen Making

In celebration of Christmas, our class is assigned to make a Belen in our school. It will be part of our project in one of our subjects and it will be presented to our college department next week.

We still have days left to finish everything an unfortunately, we haven’t started even a single piece of it. Our class president together with the other officers is still planning everything including the assignment, designations and materials.

As of now, we’ve talked about the materials that we will need including:

1.Newspapers
2.Cardboards
3.Cloths
4.Sticks
5.Small baskets
6.Small figurines
7.Clays
8.Glue
9.Emergency light for the day of presentation.

These are just some of the materials and we still haven’t finalized it. I think we better start now so we can come up with a very nice and presentable Belen. I hope that everyone will cooperate and I hope that we ca finish everything on time.
